Recycle Right
Through primary and secondary research, my discoveries showed that although 95% of my audience recycles, only 9% of plastics are recycled world wide and every year there is a total of 22 million tons of plastic found in the Great Lakes. These facts imply that majority of my audience has been recycling improperly, which can lead to contamination and ultimately pollution. Plastic pollution in the Great Lakes leads to many negative effects. The state of Michigan in particular is surrounded by 4 out of the 5 Great Lakes, and its residents rely on the tourism or resources that the Great Lakes supply to make a living. This group has a great respect and deep love for the lakes and want to know ways in which they can make a difference in   the pollution, and are willing to learn if given an accessible and correct information. The goal of Recycle Right is to raise awareness among a wide range of Michigan residents and to give them the information and tools that will help reduce the plastic submissions into the Great Lakes.
